Came from a time of the Earth's history where much of the world was much like East Africa. A world where many familiar species of animals where beginning to appear on the planet such as bears, dogs, hyenas, camels, giraffes, seals, various snake and bird species, elephants, rhinos and apes. They co-existed with sabertooths, bear-dogs (though the largest species where more like bear-lions or bear-tigers), dog-bears, three-toed horses and others. That time being the Miocene.
