Earlier I talked about how I was inspired to create a new world that was inspired by the Super Mario series, but is actually a completely different universe altogether. A parody, if you will. Here is the first drawing based on my new, original world.

Jacques and his younger brother Marcel lived in Montreal, Quebec, making their living by running their own pizzeria. They are second-generation Canadians, their parents having moved there from France, so Jacques and Marcel will have French accents and such.

Why are they French? Mario and Luigi have Italian stereotypes, and Italy and France are huge rivals in everything. From food, to fashion, to futbol, everything one country can do, the other thinks it can do better. I figured a Frenchman would make a good antithesis to an Italian.

Anyway, one day the "Jacques Bros." were delivering a dozen pizzas to a birthday party when suddenly a huge, deep sinkhole opened up underneath their car. They were falling for what seemed an eternity. By the time they eventually landed, the brothers found themselves in another world...
