Sara's father (Jeffery Aria) as he appears in my comic New Life. (quick drawing)
He played a key role in the background story of my comic as a leader of a small group against the human takeover of the Niviean race. His actions unfortunately led to even worse treatment of the Niviean race after he spared Ryan's life after killing his parents. Eventually Ryan would end his life as revenge... although Sara does not know any of this...
He's an otherwise very caring father who was forced into a bad situation to defend his family and kind.
A design side note: He's 50/50 cat and fox

He may have took bad decisions and actions of the Niviean race, however I would forgive him because he was a caring father who defended his family AND kind till the very end, even at the worst situations. Amazing lil backstory there. Kinda sad, and it would be amazing if he somehow survived and reunited with his daughter. But still, very cool!

Probably so but the end result may have been the same if he had spared the same person (ryan)
(A side note: when his backstory was shown in the comic it was before I decided to include any sort of firearm type weaponry. In the present day of the story access to things like that is greatly limited by the human government.
Its sort of a jab at our government's approach to gun control where they arm themselves and try to take away from us citizens)

What's most unfortunate about his story is that it could happen to anyone. Bad circumstances can turn even the nicest people into something they never wanted to be.
I certainly see where Sara gets a few of her physical features, as well as her stubbornness.

One can only imagine how things may have turned out if he hadn't taken this route. Would it have been better or for the worse

Well intentioned guy who took the extreme option and sadly caused more bad than good.
I really like his design; clearly, Sara and her sister took the looks from him, but they arent copies of himself. I like how the tail is thinner and has a few stripes near the base. And his hair is also rather different than usual.
I think you did good, and glad you followed that suggestion. Great job, man.
