A skilled mercenary night fighter, Rivenna found herself gravitating to the frontier lands that bordered the dread Unseelie forces to slake her thirst for adventure. She imagined that she would hire on from land to land as wanderlust, and boredom, was want to move her. Then she encountered the lands of the new Queen Emily.

She had seen new queens rise and fall in the Patchwork lands with a regularity that rivaled human clocks. Their lands blossomed with wildflowers in a meadow, only to fade as quickly once they ran afoul of typical fairy court intrigue, or the crossroads of Seelie/Unseelie armies, or they usually just lost interest in playing monarch. But this time something seemed.... different. For starters, she was a changeling. Not unheard of but definitely unusual. The regency council was actually that, actively teaching the young Queen vs. ruling from behind the throne. Emily had actually won their friendship and loyalty. Two queens from nearby lands actually bent knee to her, becoming her vassals. Unbelievable And if it were to be believed, the queen herself had already put down not just one but three invasion attempts. Yet her lands seemed none the worse for wear.

Already inclined to stay in hope of some excitement, Rivenna's biggest shock came in learning just how effective the new queens secret agents were. Shortly after returning from an adventure, they recruited her for membership. And unlike in certain lands, it actually was an invitation and one she could freely refuse. After getting to actually meet Queen Emily, the queen's charisma proved just as powerful a lure to her as certain human lamps did to moths.

Now one of the elite, Queen's Sparrows, Rivenna gets to go looking for trouble, and have fun doing it too.
