While some fairies like to play the bubble headed beach blonde or cloud cookoolander, Spinel is content to be just a happy giggling innocent little girl who is content to spin herself dizzy, which could explain her inability to fly in a straight line. She is a talented stunt flyer often incorporating barrel rolls and corkscrew spins into her trips. When pressed on the issue, Spinel confessed that she can fly a bee-line, maybe. But where's the fun in that? In addition to the playground merry-go-round, she has a marked fondness for twirling around any pole she can find. When it comes to human amusement park rides that spin, it was love at first sight. The faster the spin, the more she likes it. Although she makes an exception for the Carousel, the pretty horses make up for the slower twirl.

Within the troop, Spinel is one of Joy's favorite playmates. They both love playing with ribbons. And Spinel just loves the shiny, slick poles that Mai and Gladiola enjoy spinning around like her. They've tried to teach her pole dancing, but so far the only trick she's managed is to spin around so fast that her clothes fly off. While they despair she will ever be ready to perform for an audience, the giggling Spinel thinks it's great fun.
