Description Death Of Summer

Like Tennyson's Princess, you look back
at memories of green fields-----Alive,
with the flowers of summer...
The faint smile, that once ran across your
lips.........dissolve to tears
as you discover that the blooms
are all gone.....
replaced--
by ashes...and burning embers...
everything that you once loved---
enjoyed---
have faded to black;
the End has come...
and you are alone.
With tear drenched eyes and melancholy
racing, in and out
-like spears-
dashing through your heart.
you grieve for days long gone....
regret,
regret for the lost of summer.
But, all things are bound to end....
ashes to ashes...
dust to dust.
and the greenfields of summer,
the daisies and lilacs will
burn away and meet
their death.
And looking back...
tears well in your eyes, as
you look at this wasteland,
praying----
for a single flower,
alive and in bloom...
But, all there is, are ashes---and
silence
and death...
And, the greenfields that you loved,
shall be lost...
to be seen,
nevermore.
