Description
Scene cut to the streets, as Syrian is escorting Lyra to the music shop in issue 2, their conversation prancing around the question as to 'what' Lyra actually is now.Initially, the floating image of the two of them was not on the page, and the panels with the closeups were situated differently, but it all just felt too flat, so I dropped in the floating image and changed things up a bit - a much better page I think.

This page is solid. Love the composition and the drawing all around. Its nice you didn't stray away from drawing a detailed background as this only adds to the story and grounds the characters in an environment.

Yeah, it would look cheap if the background was hacked out, and I totally agree that background helps support the story and can act to carry the overall mood and tone of the scene - totally.

Time and again I've seen this to be the case and while I am not perfect myself, I like seeing care taken with the backgrounds as well as the characters.
