This shot immediately caught my attention; it carries a strong feeling. The boy's expression is truly one of puzzled intent, an intent which is emphasized by the abandoned apple that now sits half eaten in the foreground. The choice to have the focus on the apple brings an air of importance to what the boy is doing, that this poor apple has been left alone, as well as a kind of pity for the apple (sorry, I'm a fruit lover ).

Well composed, and the contrast of the light flesh of the apple against the darker, more obscure background is a great touch.
