Description
Keniichiru's opponent is none other than the man who had stirred up his life, Hori "Burn" Kirizaki. Hori, together with Keniichiru's father was another aspiring duelist set upon to be the champion. However, he plays dirty by sabotaging all duel disks and by using the ante rule in dueling- if one loses, he or she must surrender his or her trump or rare card. In other cases, he is seen to rip his defeated opponent's cards right after acquiring their trump cards. Keniichiru's father defeated him, revealing to all that he was a dirty duelist by playing such tricks in a match.
Hori vowed vengeance for his humiliation by killing him and his family. He attacked the Kiryuu family at night, succeeded in murdering the Kiryu couple and set the house on fire. However, he overlooked that there was a member who had escaped. The father was able to let his three-year-old son, Keniichiru, escape and ordered him to go ask for help from outside. When Keniichiru returned, disappointed that no one stirred to help him, was astounded to see their house burn. He acquired some minor burns because he attempted to open the hot door, before a fiery beam fell and almost hit him. Crying, he ran away, screaming that the house was on fire, and eventually saw a shadow ran away, not knowing that this was the criminal, Hori. Scared, he returned to the burning home and squat near a random tree and watched helplessly as the fire engulfed his house and his parents to ashes. Just in time, the firemen, together with the police, arrived but were too late. The house was almost reduced to cinders. Then, from the car, Megumi Ayuzawa stepped down and glared at the house, before hearing a soft cry, almost a wail coming from a child. She looked for it and saw Keniiciru, crouching on the floor with his face between his legs. That's where the story of Megumi and Keniichiru took place.

Years later, when Keniichiru began entering duel tournaments, this is where the momentous duel took place.
Hori uses a "Burn" deck (if that still exists xD that deck is quite deadly since you can deplete your opponent's lifepoints even without attacking, that's where he got his nickname) while Keniichiru uses a Warrior type deck (o3o). The latter defeated the former by using his ace, Isildur, the Fallen Knight (quite a pun with his past incarnation as Isidore xD and I did that on purpose ). Hori, after being defeated and realizing that he was Suichiru's son, swore vengeance, by destroying what Keniichiru holds dear until he is driven to insanity.

Years later again xD they dueled, under the pretext of kidnapping Nen. If Keniichiru loses, he'll witness how he'll kill Nen by setting her on fire (this girl is on fire ). Keniichiru was desperate to win, to the point that he almost messed up. Of course, who couldn't handle the pressure of revenge? This was remedied by a few words from Nen, even though she was tied and silenced (through words, but Keniichiru was already seething with rage and had wanted to strangle him to death); and Ryoga who remained silent all the time, but then declared his own view. (Don't ask me how he got there...it's a looong story)

I'll spill the beans: Keniichiru won the duel but Hori betrayed him by holding Nen hostage, a sharp knife near her throat. He revealed that he was the one who ruined his life-murdered his parents- and now will take again another one that he holds dear. He won't stop until the "survivor" becomes one of the dead list. Keniichiru's initial reaction was shock, and upon seeing this, Nen bit her kidnapper's arm and released herself from his grip. Another good thing they were immediately backed up by Ryoga, who landed a fist on Hori's face twice, before landing another fist on Keniichiru's stomach in order for him to snap back to reality.

I need to find a name for Keniiichiru's parents and I think my editing on this pic seems crappy. I couldn't think of a proper background.
