There are these two published articles [link] and [link] I think the later is more informative.
They claim there to be 11 different types of dominate white. But I don't know if I agree with that. The people who write these kinds of things don't like the used of the term 'Sabino' and consider it an umbrella term. But then since they are using dominate white for everything, I feel that DW is the new Sabino, in the sense that it's an umbrella term. In the equine form I'm part of, some one claims every now and then to discover a new strain of DW.
I'm not sure on the genetic testing of it all. It could very well mutate that easily because KIT is known to mutate the most. But this at least will give you an idea of what it looks like. It can be very minimal, to entirely white horses.
