Some old Metal Gear fanart. This was done when I was still just trying to learn the initial stages of digital painting. I'm not sure I put that much thought into the light source or where it was coming from other than I just thought it looked cool at the time.

Still improving, I see. Oddly, I especially like what you did with the nose more than anything else. I say that because it looks like an real nose done over with a vector. The dimensional detail of it is really insane, man.
I do find it slightly humorous that you made it seem like Snake's Pappy was half-oriental(Japanese, perhaps) with the style of eye you gave him. All in all, nicely done.

You're right. I didn't actually paint this. There's a "Big Boss" brush in CS4 and I just moved the pen tool around a bit. Smoke and mirrors.
