A buddy of mine requested Balthier. This is what I call "compromise."Personally, I love 12. I pretty much dig anything made for the Ivalice world.
Also, Balthier's costume has to be the MOST frustratingly intricate piece of costuming ever made for a FF character. Just saying.

I LOVE the Ivalice world. Everything about it is inspiring. I've tried drawing Balthier a few times, his vest is what kills me.

all of it is frustrating depending on how detailed you care to get with it. Even if you block out the major shapes, there's so many more little details - stitching, etc.

That's true. I used to get so into the details WHILE I block-in. So that was one of problems. lol Still, I love the details in their character designs.
