Here we have a famous Uschatek Bear song, the whole generation knows it by heart ("kids like teddy bears, and teddy bears like kids") I suppose this is equivalent.

English is easy... pronunciation and accent may be a problem, perhaps, but grammar is just wonderfully simple. Words don't change forms at all. We have 7 forms for nouns and many more for verbs. Don't ever study any Slavic language!

At high level every language gets subtle and tricky, sure. But you can learn 1000 English words and a few rules and go all around the world with this. And you can start reading books at early stage of learning - this is what I love about English, because lots of good books have been written in this language (talking about books, have you read "The Sisters Brothers"? It's my book of the month!)

by Death! sounds interesting. I must try one day. even though last book I've read related to the subject gave me nightmares (it was "Beatrice and Vergil"; it starts innocently, and the further you go, the worse it gets)

Good to know. I have just subscribed to Amazon (I've got a Kindle now!) and I wouldn't mind a few nice and interesting books for a start.
