Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms , a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.This one originally started off as a "celestial kitsune", basically, but when I asked the art director if she meant celestial as in "angelic/good" or "celestial" as in "celestial bodies", she told me she had meant the former, but was intrigued by the latter :bΒ So I got permission to see what kind of original "star fox" I could come up with

This is probably the most beautiful creature you've created yet. I would just love to read the bestiary description and stats for it. O.o

I imagine it's a fairly high-level creature, fully sentient and with dragon-like intelligence and powerful magical ability.Β It lives on the astral plane, and serves as a kind of gatekeeper/keymaster (Ghostbusters, haha) kind of role, each of its "tails" drawing power from/linking to different realms.Β I feel like it would be lawfully aligned, adhering to strict rules about how to use its power, but probably neutral rather than good or evil.

I would imagine such. Creatures seem to get cooler and cooler the higher level they are. ^^
Heh, nice Ghostbusters reference. It would be so epic to see this creature in it's native setting. maybe when you're not so busy with the bestiary itself you could do some of the creatures in their natural environment for fun. I can totally see this creature standing atop an astral pyramid of sorts like what Zhul had. Only much much cooler. :3
