Here's a Superman character I always meant to revamp, but never quite got around to sketching until now. In case you haven't guessed, this be Doomsday here. And this time I decided to veer him away from the intergalactic soccer hooligan look, as James Marsters' Lex Luthor so eloquently put it in Superman: Doomsday , turning him into more of a biological killing machine, comprising physical elements of some familiar beasties - the head, torso and arms of a gorilla; the mouth and gills of a great white shark; the claws of a grizzly bear; the haunched legs of a T-Rex; and the spiny armor motifs of both a stegosaur and an ankylosaur. I chose to make him look more animal-like because, as I noted when I reworked Mongul - [link] - the whole 'large non-flesh-toned man' thing doesn't give you a whole lot of creativity.
