Description I really really like that song okay shut up

Okay, so my brother and I played Red Dead Redemption for a while tonight, not having played it for a couple of years. It's one of our favorite games, and I love the setting, so... AU with my own characters go!

SETTING: Early 1900's, Western USA.

Deputy Michael Sadik is an immigrant from Turkey who, rather than attempt to seek his fortune in New York or Chicago, moved out to a tiny Utah settlement known as Daggett to work for the Sheriff. He naturally worked his way up through the ranks, finally reaching Deputy after a few years.

The Prophet is a famous criminal in the county, proudly taking on the titles of both hired thief and assassin. Very little is known about him, except that he is extremely dangerous and extremely hard to come into contact with.

After a particularly important case goes cold, the Sheriff of Daggett asks Deputy Sadik to take on the role of Bounty Hunter, seeking out The Prophet and ideally killing him.

After weeks of searching, often going undercover, Sadik comes across a man that once worked - in a very hush-hush, disconnected manner - with The Prophet. Another few weeks of trail-following goes by, and finally Sadik finds himself in The Prophet's hideout - an abandoned church in the distant foothills.

It is there, upon meeting The Prophet, that he sees the criminal's blindness. He's struck with a tiny bit of sympathy, so instead of just going ahead and shooting The Prophet, Sadik tells him that he wants to hire him to assassinate someone who lives in Daggett - under the condition that Sadik can come along. The Prophet prefers to work alone, but with some insistence - and a hefty payment - he agrees to the terms.

And so begins the two-month long, stealth-centric journey through town, desert, and mountain, back to Daggett. Of course, it being Michael and Jonah, a bit of friendship and, later, romance, tends to complicate things... I imagine in the end The Prophet is shot; not by Deputy Sadik, but most likely the Sheriff.
So yeah. I really like cowboys.

And I keep wondering...how does a blind man steal and kill efficiently?
The answer: an incredibly dedicated guide dog.

The real answer: an incredibly dedicated guide dog horse.\

No, but seriously, The Prophet is more a crime boss than he is anything else. I imagine when people hire him, he hires others to do the dirty work for him. Then again, he might be like Toph from ATLA and have the ability to essentially "see" through his other senses. You know; cheesy, improbable stuff like that.

Yeah, but gunfighting!
I imagine that in a shootout, he has to be gently pointed in the direction of his enemies by his gang.

Haha, yesssssSSS I love that. I suppose, in a happier ending, Deputy Sadik abandons Daggett to become a criminal as well so that he can assist and be with The Prophet - whose name I'm sure he would later learn.

And in interrogations, he bursts through the door, yells "Tell me where the money is, or  I'll chop off a finger!"
... then he is guided from the hatrack he was yelling at to the tied up dude they were questioning.

Completely accurate. And let's not forget the fun of explaining to your clients that you shot the wrong guy.
