Fantastic! Love all the textures combining to make a unique dark and gritty portrait of a dark, hardened orc.

Whoa! That is really cool! Can't wait to get to your level! I love how you're not afraid to go dark in some areas. It really gives off the 'scary' or (can't think of the word) feel! Keep it up!! Love your work! You just gain a new fan!

Haha. Know what ya mean. Every time I see that Warcraft 3 cover orc I feel like Gollum looking at his ring. I love games & bliz games especially, but I can blow large portions of my life just sitting there playing when I could be drawing.

Ooo, how do you do the texture of the skin? Do you have a texture for it?

I just do a lot of bs textures. If you do a layer of black dots all over the skin and a layer of white dots on the highlights (using one of those spattery brushes like # (100), erase everything that's not on the skin, set to overlay, and turn the opacity way down, you can get something that resembles pores. Then for the scaly texture, I just do like dark line cells and then white lines inside the middle of them. BS texture. Just be careful any time you use extreme highlights cuz when you flatten it, and then go back in to play with the levels, it can make the highlights have this nasty blotchy texture. I've made that mistake one too many times.

Ah I see. I use photoshop. Well you can certainly still draw in the textures, just make them very very light and put them in at the end so they don't dominate your darks and lights. It's good to draw everything on one layer, if you can. I don't know anything about Sai, but I do know that when it comes to art, macs are better. The colors on a mac...soooooo much better than a pc. And definitely download photoshop if you can!

I've downloaded photoshop before, but... I don't know, it just doesn't seem to work well with my computer or something :/ When trying to paint, it drags behind where I am by a too great of a distance, you know what I mean? Like, the ''paint'' isn't with the cursor, it takes a while to catch up. And I really don't like that at all when trying to draw and colour....

I know exactly what you mean. I think you just have to get more ram, or don't allow photoshop to use as much working memory (or maybe the opposite). Something like that. I'm not really much of a computer expert, but if you have a friend who is, you should ask them. It all ends up costing a lot of money, but photoshop is definitely the way to go. You use a tablet, right?

Well, my boyfriend is pretty tech savy, not so much myself. I may need to ask him in that case.
And yes, I probably wouldn't be drawing digitally at all if I didn't have one. Haha

Well that's good. Yeah, you can't do a whole lot without one. At least you can't do nearly as much.
