Did some more concept art. This one is for Shaman Gate which was previously named A.M. Bourghini High. You can recognize two characters here from my previous A.M. Bourghini High drawings. Sorry if you liked the old name, but as I developed the story more and more I realized that the name wasn't representative of the point of the story; the story is more than about the drug so...

I drew the main antagonist in the background; he is code name Kuro (which is Japanese for "Black"). Hendrix is code name Shiro (which is Japanese for... "White"! Good job) I used this ref to draw Kuro: dccomicsfannon.wikia.com/wiki/…

I am super excited to work on Shaman Gate. Hope it ends up being animated one day.

For those of you who haven't seen the plot from my previous A.M. Bourghini High posts, here is the synopsis.

Shaman Gate follows the story of the enigmatic prodigy from Armitage High School named Hendrix a.k.a Shiro. Hendrix is very different from any kid his age and not merely because he is ahead of his time in all realms of human knowledge and is a top athlete. Hendrix can perceive reality in it's purest form, something he calls Hyper Reality. Being the only one capable of this feat, Hendrix was ostracized since childhood and became completely disillusioned from mankind causing Hendrix to have zero social skills. Despite accepting his fate as a lone wolf, Hendrix always strived to correct this flaw of his in order for him to be able to relate to ordinary human beings. Hendrix believes his ability to percieve Hyper Reality is due to heightened chemical activity in his brain.

At Armitage High, Hendrix alongside two other classmates, develops a supplement drug that would imitate the chemical activity of the average male his age in order to regulate Hendrix's heightened brain activity and reduce his perception of Hyper Reality in order for him to be able to develop his social skills. However Hendrix abandons the project.

As the weeks go by, word breaks out about a new recreational drug that has become very popular at schools in the town. It is said to enable a person to see things beyond anything the human mind can conjure and is a gateway to other dimensions. Since it is said to have originated from Armitage High, a private school for the well off, it is dubbed the "A.M. Bourghini High". Days later, an epidemic breaks out all over town of high school students having fallen into commas in the thousands.

Hendrix affirms to his friends that someone had stolen the recipe for the incomplete supplement drug they had developed and was selling it to the students. The incomplete drug was a failure as it did not imitate the regular brain activity of the average male but instead imitated Hendrix's heightened brain activity. Essentially, anyone who had used the "A.M. Bourghini High" now had a brain that worked like Hendrix's. However since no ordinary human brain can cope with functioning at Hendrix's level, let alone perceive reality in it's purest form aka Hyper Reality, all the user's fell into comma. Hendrix claims that their minds are trapped in Hyper Reality and need to be retrieved before their bodies also disappear into Hyper Reality and cease to exist in this world.

Together with his three friends ( one more joins them later,) Hendrix must journey into the world of Hyper Reality to save the thousands of students who are trapped there before their bodies disappear from the material world altogether.

As the story progresses, Hendrix and his three friends eventually find all the students, however they realize that none of them, not even Hendrix can return back to the physical world. Hendrix alongside the students are all trapped in Hyper Reality...

As Hendrix and his friends try to figure a way out of Hyper Reality, they realize that more and more humans from the material world are entering Hyper Reality not just in thousands but in millions.

Hendrix comes to the conclusion that the same individual who had stolen the recipe for his drug, purposefully sold it knowing the side effects and was now implementing it on the whole world. Hendrix believes this individual is his peer, a human with a heightened brain that can naturally perceive Hyper Reality. Hendrix believes this person had been plotting this for a long time and was drawing the whole world into Hyper Reality, which he has now become the god of.

Therefore in order to set everyone free from Hyper Reality, before it is too late, Hendrix or anybody must find and defeat the god of Hyper Reality. Hendrix is named Shiro (White) and sees this god of Hyper Reality as his opposite but his peer... his shadow, Kuro (Black).
