Man did I hate these things. I've only played Other M, but these were still annoying. I found that dodging them was far superior to attacking them.

The first time I've encountered w/them on Metroid Other M I'd almost die just trying to kill them!Gladly there would be a save station somewhere near!
But now I just do as you said and dodge them!
