If you had not said NMS inspiration I would have said LOTRO... That looks exactly like a gold resource node in that game.Β My first look was sans caffeine so I didn't see the other planets in the sky...

When I spawned into NMS for the first time, I was on a planet much like this only with harsher, deeper blues and snow. It was a beautiful, if deadly world that could kill you very quickly because of temperature differentials.
It also had giant floating jellyfish squid spiders.
