The lighting seems a bit intense, what did you do for it?

It's the same light I've always used. However I lowered the ambient occlusion by about 15%. The skin and fur textures were slightly altered in color as well. The skin is more tan and the fur is more blue.

It's a rotated sun. That's it. Get a sun, rotate it by x45 and z-45 and you have my lighting.

Oh, so it's just a sun lamp+ambient occlusion. That's what I suspected, it's what I used to do for lighting myself.

Yeah, I'm no expert in lighting so I don't have any light maps or anything fancy like that, haha.

That's understandable. I use a very basic cube-like lighting system with emission shaders, it's a lot like a cube with all the faces seperated and then pulled two units out.
