Mostly from watching film and dissecting the images in select scenes, highlighting the types of camera movement, framing, and storytelling choices that comes with directing. Later, I got a chance to storyboard tons of commercials/films and pick the brains of production crews for information. I've got their brain chunks in jars all over my house! They won't miss it
