Description
This map shows the front lines in Europe as of May, 9 1945 when the Germans surrendered unconditionally to the Allied powers. This marks the end of the war in Europe but the war rages on in Asia as Japan is unwilling to surrender instead would fight to the last man which led to the allies to make Operation Downfall which was a plan to invade the Japanese main land which would have made the war last another year or more. But on September 2nd 1945 Japan surrendered unconditionally due to the dropping of atomic bombs and an invasion by the Soviets into Manchuria.
