My character in Reach used that helmet untill i got the EVA helmet. im guessing you can see why i switched, but the Operator helmet is still one of my favorites.

I think you did a pretty darn good job on the background though, even if it was a pain. Forgive me, I'm a writer, so I can never turn the critiquing part of my brain off, but I think if you added some more dynamic shading to the rifle it might help at least fool the eye into achieving the angle you were going for. :] I have to ask, since I've been trying to get better at drawing people (my drawing expertise lies mostly elsewhere), how did you go about drawing him? Do you draw a rough stick figure, so to speak, and then just fill in the armor around it? Or do you draw a full naked figure and then fill in armor on top? Probably a weird question, but self taught artists (me) have to scavenge for tips and bits of education somewhere

I start out with basic shapes and skeleton. I make it 3D then add outer body outline to it. Then i add armor on top of that.
