Very nice. From the lineart I was expecting the finish to have more desaturated, cooler tones, but the vibrant colors for Samus especially work well imo. The eye is naturally drawn to her first, which I imagine was the intended purpose. Keep it up man looking forward to see more of your stuff!

Thanks, Kev! Yeah, the saturation definitely helps make her pop-out among all the other elements. I wanted to try and give it that sense of depth too, where as elements recede back, they lose that saturation a bit. Still wanted to keep it all colorful and vibrant though, to capture that kind of classic cover or poster look.

Samus' blaster arm looks kinda small, but awesome Metroid art regardless. Great job on the enemies especially.

Yeah. Now that you mention it, it kind of does. It's weird how sometimes details like that get lost on you when you're in the thick of your work, and sometimes you don't even realize it until looking at it again months later, or until somebody points it out to you. 'Metroid' looks like an awesome series I should play as part of my beginning retro game collection.

Definitely do! Just experiencing the atmosphere and exploring the worlds alone in the series is worthy of a playthrough. Very few games make you feel like a total bad ass by the end, when you're fully decked out with all of the upgrades and abilities, taking down massive alien bosses.
