One of the first things I'd do if I had GNX for real with the original engine in it would be first to swap in a '75 to early '77 'odd-fire' version of the 3.8L/231 cube V6, and put the original turbo on top of it with a very hot cam and fuel injection. Why? The 'odd-fire' motors have got stronger cranks in them than later '77 and up 'even-fire' 231 V6s.
After putting in the odd-fire motor, the next thing would be to swap either a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission into it. Automatic transmissions are for wimps.
