They're not canon. Maybe you can explain how a non-living being can have a relationship with a living being. The only people that support that "ship" are morons that don't understand basic relationship requirements. Here's a hint: "There cute" doesn't make a good relationship.

I can't not, actually. "They're fictional characters and just because someone who ships a certain pair doesn't mean they apply that to their own relationships." And why not? Why is it people insist on shipping characters with reasons that would not support a healthy relationship in real life? No, they're NOT real, but many impressionable people base their future relationships on the ones that they see or read. Take the Twilight series for example. That's an incredibly unhealthy relationship based on one character controlling every aspect of the other character's life. It literally hits every mark for being an abusive relationship. Young girls read it, romanticize characters like Edward, and then go looking specifically for those relationships thinking that's what they're supposed to want. Many people get into awful relationships for this exact reason. Shipping two (or more) characters that would not be compatible in real life is the definition of terrible character writing. Considering what this show used to be (quality writing and character development up until Season 5) these garbage ships are an affront to that. They are based on nothing substantial, and not supported by ANY good arguments.

Considering the fact that it's the most common "reason" people ship characters, with complete disregard of personality types, character interactions, or any kind of LOGICAL basis. It doesn't matter how "cute" characters are together if their personalities clash. "Cute" doesn't a relationship make, otherwise NO MOVIE STARS would ever get divorced. Yet they do. Quite often. Why is that, do you think? Take your time, use your toes if you need to.

John Joseco is a fantastic artist. I've been following him for years before FiM even existed. His art is always great, and I can absolutely enjoy it. When it's art. When it's an argument against logic and reason, I can't abide. It's not that I "hate shipping," it's that I hate BAD shipping. Stuff that has no basis or structure to work with. Something where those involved could not possibly have a healthy relationship. You can take literally any character and literally any other character and say "relationship", but that does NOT mean there will be a GOOD relationship. You cannot force people together just because you think they're cute (pretty sure there was an episode about this). Personalities MATTER. In life AND in fiction. If personalities DIDN'T matter, then all characters ever would be cardboard cutouts, with nothing to distinguish between them. Nobody likes bad characters, so WHY do people like bad relationships?
"Besides, opposites attract." You're right, the opposite poles of magnets DO attract, and that is the ONLY time that rule matters. Opposite personalities do not always attract, and many times they can repel each other. The funny thing about personalities is that they're complicated. No two personality types will guarantee a match.
"And you need to go through a few bad relationships before you find 'the one'. Trial and error." You don't NEED to if you know what to look for. The problem is, many people don't. They romanticize the "bad boy", only to find out that he's bad in the BAD way. People try to change the other person to fit the relationship they want, but that never ends up well.
"You can't know what true love is until you've felt pain." Where did you hear THAT lie? Some people get into one relationship and spend their lives together. Other people bounce around from relationship to relationship because they have no idea what they're doing.
