The best part? Both of them come from the same planet!
...I'm guessing that at some point in Season 3, Discord gets released and turns everypony (and himself) into humanoids with pink skin and pointy ears. Twilight/Katma Tui gets recruited to The GLC to combat his now universe-threatening levels of power, and Discord/Sinestro creates his own ring to fight them off.
At some point during the war, a certain Black duck accidentally gets recruited and ends up saving everyone.

Last time Batman got a green ring on his finger the only thing he could create was an image of his parents corpses. He has never gotten over the fear that event created in him and hence can hardly use a green ring. He did nearly pick up a yellow ring a while back, and that would have been much more in character.

Twilight Sparkles oath would probably look nothing like that. While a number of Lanterns choose to copy Hal Jordan's oath in actual fact in can be just about anything. Anyone remember:
