Description
The 2nd character from the cast of Pahkitew Island that I originally drew back in January as well as one of the first ones to be completely finalized.While Ella wasn't one of my favorites from the 3rd cast, she did ultimately end up being one of the four characters that I liked at all (the others being Scarlett, Jasmine, and Sky in that order). However, it is unfortunate that most of her purpose had to be around a plot that made Fresh TV (a company that claims to be anti-bullying ) look very hypocritical as well as making the other character involved even more vile then ever (especially with how she gets Ella eliminated). Still, I wouldn't mind seeing her again even though it is unlikely as she is one of the more borderline gimmicky characters from this cast (most of whom have pretty much drained their entertainment values relatively early).
Recently, a debate popped up over on the Wiki with one of Sugar's fans claiming that her bullying Ella is justified as it ultimately gave Ella a plot. My question is, do you think Ella would've had a plot aside from being bullied by Sugar (and to a lesser degree falling in love with Dave)?

Of course Ella could have had a plot, it would have been about a young girl who believes that the world is still sun shine and rainbows have her views completely shattered.
Also, how wrong is it to ship Ella and Rodney?

Here are my viewpoints for Ella:
As a character, she's like Dawn, but only with a more childish feel and sings to animals instead of channeling their harmony. Her design's very nice and has one of the nicest personalities on there that rivals even Zoey's.
For the bullying Sugar gave her, it was like they were applying a plot that was already being used in that season (being Amy's bullying to Sammy) and that she didn't deserve any of it. However, she felt like friendship was magic and pushed it aside. I kinda relate to Ella because I was bullied all the time in Middle School because kids didn't know about my autism. However, at that time, I took teasing poorly while Ella stayed happy and moved on. As for the Dave moment, she tends to have a fairytale feeling and made a slight mistake. However, when Dave broke her heart without knowing, she was derailed of sadness until she sang again, which ultimately got her out and led to a great song.
Overall, I can relate to Ella and she didn't deserve to go so soon. I feel that she should've left at least around the merging point. As for a plot, she could try to bring happiness to others by means without singing and maybe, just maybe, be in a relationship with Beardo because they might bond for their love for music.

I've never watched any Disney Princess films... like, at all, but Ella really grew on me. She's such a sweet character that you can't help but love her.
Also, I don't think it's such a good idea to call out these so-called "fantards" (trying to sound neutral here) since it'll most likely bring some negative attention. Like I said in our notes, Sugar wasn't really "bullying" Ella per say, she was just on some pageant girl shit.

She's the only character I liked this season who wasn't either one of my favorites (Scarlett, Jasmine, and Sky) or simply neutral (Dave, the twins, and Beardo).
I changed it to fans because of that.

Yeah, she's one of the few TDPI characters in my 'like' range as well.

The only other three in my 'like' range are Scarlett, Jasmine, and Sky. Dave and Samey would be in there as well but the former's character was sodomized in record time while the latter had most of her purpose revolve around a plot which said 'fuck your intelligence!'.

I'm neutral on them, actually. Beardo didn't have much to offer besides his awesome vocal effects, and Max is too gimmicky.

Beardo is neutral for me as well, best 1st eliminated character in my opinion.
Max on the otherhand, it will be too soon if I never have to see that obnoxious deformed asshole again.

He always annoyed me, but I wouldn't have hated him as much had he been eliminated in Episode 6. But making it to 5th place and playing a hand in making the last three minutes of Scarlett Fever feel like a complete slap in the face completely nuked his character. I never want to see his ugly face again!

Dear Ella, you left us way too soon. Ella's my favorite of the third generation, not just because she's adorable, but I also like how despite the fact that she and Sky both liked the same guy, that they ended on good terms. Also in my opinion, Sugar is a bad character, but there's more to it than just being a bully. After Ella's eliminated, she's an unfunny joke after unfunny joke, and she still makes it farther than Jasmine! But I don't hate her as much as I hate Amy, ugh Amy.

Yeah, there are definitely a lot more reasons to hate Sugar than how she treated Ella (but it was only the tip of the iceberg). I honestly thought she got worse after Ella was eliminated due to how much she coasted along due to her blatant Godplaying and favoritism.
I'm honestly neutral on Amy, at least her face doesn't make me want to boycott anything she's in post-Scarlett Fever the same way Sugar does.

I'm ok with Ella but I'm going to strongly disagree with you about the "Ella bullying" from Sugar since all she did was act extremely mean to her every time Ella tried to talk to her or sing to her. It wasn't Sugar just literally bullying her flat out.

"fantards" *but does the same thing when it comes to Mike, Zoey or Gwen* And you wonder why most of the TD fanbase hates you(tumblr, wiki, TD FB group, etc etc).... If you actually watched the season, Sugar never really "bullied" Ella but was a bitch to her every time Ella tried to befriend her with singing but your ridiculous Sugar hate bias blinds you as pretty much everything you hate would blind you so I'm honestly not surprised.

Ella left us far too soon. She was amazing, and I hope that she does come back one day. Who cares if she's gimmicky or not; she was so entertaining and fun that I don't care either way.

Honestly, I'd prefer Dawn over her in terms of the definitive Ensemble Darkhorses from their respective casts but I wouldn't mind seeing Ella again either. She was the only real gimmicky character from this cast that I found myself liking as the rest of the gimmick characters sucked (Shawn included).
By the way, what is your opinion on people saying that Sugar's bullying to Ella is justified as it gave the latter a plot?

I like both to be honest, so seeing one or the other wouldn't be a problem to me. And Ella was such a joy, though I don't really see Shawn as gimmicky. Really, he just had a problem, and while it's still technically there, he can move past and overcome it and live his life and enjoy his relationship.
I really don't think that's the only plot idea Ella could have. She's more dynamic than just being a bullying victim.

So do I, in fact I wouldn't mind seeing Dawn & Ella interact sometime in the future (if they ever decide to bring both of them back considering how their not 'all-star' worthy). To me, Shawn's character revolves entirely around his zombie obsession which unfortunately taints both him as a character and his relationship with Jasmine.
Somebody on the Wiki mentioned that she could've annoyed Chris with her singing more and that could've been a plot.

I wouldn't mind seeing that at all as Ella would accept Dawn's quirks with open arms. (Screw "all-star" status. Those guys need a break; let some of the underdogs have another chance to shine.) Well, that's kind of the point. Everyone's character revolves around some one thing, like Ella and being a princess, or Max and his EVIL-ness, or Jasmine being Australian. It's just a part of him. JaShawn was still ten times better than Skave in my opinion.
Well, that is an idea, but honestly, I just like the idea of her being a positive force on such a negative atmosphere due to Chris making it negative.

Agreed. Give people like Eva, Beth, Dawn, Brick, Ella, etc. a chance please. I'd much rather see them than Sugar who Cartoon Network and Fresh TV obviously see as their pet the same way Owen was for the 1st Generation.
That's also true, because the negative nature of the show lately has made it very uncomfortable (especially with the past two seasons).

I'd love to see some other people get plots. It's not like it'd be impossible for them to not have plots seeing how the fans can give them some with relative ease. Honestly, I'm done with Creator's Pets; they don't work for Total Drama because all it does is make the same people come back over and over and that's BORING to me.
That's more Chris and the badness of TDAS more than anything. I mean, TDPI was a big step up, but it's nowhere close to being TDI. No season has come close to TDI in my opinion.

I've said numerous times that Eva should've been Justin's replacement in Action since she was already kinda antagonist and didn't need to be derailed like Courtney was. Are there any characters that you want to see be permanently retired?
Agree to disagree on Pahkitew Island being an improvement. I view All-Stars as a Franchise Killer and Pahkitew Island to me was them beating a dead horse.

Eva being Justin's replacement could have worked, especially seeing how Eva could actually learn how to not be so mad, thus giving her development in the end. To be honest, not really. I mean, I know Mike is going to be Put On A Bus, so there's no one I really feel needs to be retired forever.
Agree to disagree. I do think TDPI was better than TDAS, but then again, it's not really hard to be better than TDAS, so that's not really saying much in comparison I suppose.

There are quite a few that I deserve to be permanently axed at this point - DJ, Max, Justin, Duncan, Sugar, Alejandro, Lightning, Leshawna, Scott, Rodney, etc.

I don't really see DJ needing to axed. Fixed, but not cut from the show. Rodney was fine as a gag, and Alejandro is okay. Really, I feel like a lot of these are going to be choices we'll have to agree to disagree on.
