His name is supposed to be Dr. Claw, not Sanford Scolex. Also i do like Rupert Everett but he doesn't really match Dr. Claw in any more. This movie gets a lot of things wrong about the show anyway.

Nothing, so why the hell did anyone tell him he could direct anything aside from commercials? That's what Cool as Ice was, a half-assed Vanilla Ice commercial.

Thankfully, he hasn't directed another movie since this one.

Just like "James and the Giant Peach", I embarrassingly admit that I own this movie and liked it as a kid. But as a teen, I've REALLY began to see it's flaws!

Yeah, but whereas James and the Giant Peach is still one giant piece of enjoyable eye candy, Inspector Gadget is flat-out stupid. Even as a kid, I knew it sucked. Broderick's bland, Everett's way too over the top (And you can see his fucking face while he's Claw! ), next-to-no Penny, stupid sound effects, stupid love interest, stupid evil plot, and stupid jokes. Who told David Kellogg he could direct? He should have taken a hint after Cool as Ice proved uncool with the audience.

So to recap, Dr. Claw isn't called Dr. Claw, he doesn't own an evil terrorist organization called MAD, he sounds less like a monster and more like a fashion critic, and us never seeing him in the show is now replaced with SEEING HIM ALL THE TIME!
