Jack Cade was the biggest corporate lawyer in town. He was wealthy, powerful and handsome to boot. Yeah Jack Cade had it all.

He was also evil. Beneath his charming eyes was an evil scheming Rat of a man

He not only took on cases from all the rich and powerful companies. Defending them against the towns they polluted or the workers whose wages they stole. He actually seemed to relish it. “It’s eat or be eaten” he would say when his secretary questioned him. And Jack Cade always ate good.

His secretary was Sarah. A pretty older black woman who served as his loyal companion and only confidant. Little did he know though. She was so much more than that. She was a witch, and she held his fate in her hands every day. Fortunately for him she was a good one. Kind and patient. Unfortunately for him, she was finally out of patience.

One night as Jack was putting the finishing touches on his ninety ninth case Sarah entered his office.

“Jack do you truly genuinely believe that you’re doing the right thing with these cases you take on?”
Jack sighed. They’d had this talk before, but usually not this explicitly.

“Sarah I don't care about morality, you know that. Power justifies itself, and I aim to collect as much as I can. I want to take care of myself and the people I care about, like you for example. Nothing else matters in this world. I dont want to have this talk. Why don't you go home for the night?”
Sarah laughed a twinkling laugh and snapped her fingers. In a flash of light she was in a regal outfit, more befitting the sorceress she was. Jack was speechless, but for the wrong reasons as usual.

“Woah Sarah! You’re actually kind of hot!”
Sarah laughed her usual warm laugh. Like a mother bemused by her child.

“Oh Jack. Jack Jack Jack. You’re really lucky I’m fond of you. I’d tell you to never change, but unfortunately for you. That's just not an option. You’re going to change a lot. Starting with this.”
She pulled a long thin black wand out of her purse and tapped him on the forehead. He was overwhelmed by a cloud of sparks. Shrinking him down until there was nothing but a rat on the floor.

“Jack you did ninety nine cases for a bad cause. You will need to do three times as many for the cause of good or I’ll make you a rat forever. I know it’’ll be hard to learn to type as a mouse, but I think you’ll figure it out.”
She sat a big pile of papers down on the desk.
“I’ve already gotten some together for you! I suggest you get started! Its gonna take awhile to do what you need to do! And you now have the lifespan of a rat! I’ll be back tomorrow morning.”

She waved at him and vanished in a cloud of sparks. He climbed to the top of the pile, trying to read with his new eyes. This was going to be a long night.
