I don't think there is, but I'm not going anywhere so you can always revisit.

You know how to make people laugh I admire precision of the drawing, too

Thanks, I think children's fantasy illustration is better if it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Ooooh, this is shaping up to be a very impressive and wonderful project!

Thanks, it may go on for some time yet or end tomorrow, I sometimes wonder why I'm bothering. Moody old devil that I am.

You're bothering because it's awesome, and as an artist you have no choice but create.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JohnPatience In reply to line-melte [2012-09-15 11:35:43 +0000 UTC]

You may be right about the lack of choice, at least today I'm still fussing on with my latest effort. Have a good day at the drawing board yourself, assuming you haven't chosen to stay in bed.

line-melte In reply to JohnPatience [2012-09-16 11:06:00 +0000 UTC]

How did the fussing go? I'm sure you ended up with something any artist would be proud of!

Thanks, I didn't stay in bed, and am having another day at the drawing board, inking a comic page. Hopefully I'll be able to post some of what I've been up to soon.

The fussing continues, I often don't know how its going until its almost finished.

I'll look forward to seeing it Rob.

Lunch time. A cheese butty is calling.

Aha, I know that feeling.

Cheers John, I've just now in fact finished a page that I'm quite pleased with; skulls and lightning!

JohnPatience In reply to line-melte [2012-09-18 07:09:19 +0000 UTC]

Is "skulls and lightning" the subject matter or an exclamation of surprise?

On this occasion, subject matter. Today I'll be drawing a chain gang.

Hahaa, don't worry, John... as you can see, I'm fond of painfully cheesy jokes too.

Yep, worrying over-much about what we say is probably a form of egotism.

Have a grand day.

You always create wonderful and whimsical illustrations. Who else would come up with a pillow fight to the death with a mechanical minotaur vs a troll on a log over a river! Too funny! I love it! Well done my friend!

JohnPatience In reply to NanaCasas [2012-05-28 07:00:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Michelle, I wanted to do a show down between the light and dark forces but becauce its for children I didn't want it to carry too much emotional weight.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NanaCasas In reply to JohnPatience [2012-05-28 14:52:59 +0000 UTC]

I think you balanced it very well. I think the children who see this and read the story will enjoy it. I know I will when your book comes out! Heck, I enjoy looking at the illustrations now! By the way, is there any chance you are getting close to publishing your book anytime soon? Would love to know!

By the way did you notice that I am getting a Coton de Tulear puppy next month? My hubby decided I needed some puppy love (we both miss Sailor terribly, still) so we decided to get a Coton because they are small enough for me to take care of in my old age! I'm still trying to figure out a name for the little darling. Got any ideas? Would love to know what you might come up with.

Take care my friend!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JohnPatience In reply to NanaCasas [2012-05-28 18:23:05 +0000 UTC]

I have to admit that as yet I have no story to go with these pics, I'm pretty sure I could put one together if I feel the need. I have no plans to approach a publisher with the idea but never say never.

I did notice your puppy, she's incredibly cute, how about Socks for a name as in "bless her Coton socks.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NanaCasas In reply to JohnPatience [2012-05-29 07:28:09 +0000 UTC]

Oh well, whenever you feel the need for a story to go with the pics, I'm sure it will be really good! And I promise I will never say never!

Thank you for noticing my new puppy. I think she is incredibly cute also. Your "Socks" idea is a cute idea too, but I'm not sure my hubby would go for it. I'm gonna run it by him anyway! Ya just never know! Thanks John!

Take care!

Yes...i thought it best to keep all my 'usernames' the same on most sites so there is no confusion. And i hope you don't change your name...It is such so original and FUN!
