Description
Found this image within a collection of photos and just had to do it. I also wanted to try using the pattern tool in Illustrator again, and of course it gave me lots of trouble. I don't know if I just suck at it, but trying to get the dots in the exact same place as the original is really hard. I had to end up finding the perfect width and height AND add a .1 angle to it, to get it 95% there. Not to mention that when I had to color shadows over them, it became a pain. Thank god for Transparency filters and Multiply, because without it, I would have been screwed.
I also decided to make my life harder by forcing myself to gradient mesh almost everything. I could have used simple gradients for a lot of the coloring, but instead, I made it take way longer and had to do a lot more work. The total amount was 44 gradient meshes and 1659 nodes. I do like using them though, and if it helps to lower banding, even in the slightest, I think its worth it. Other than that, the image was not nearly as soul crushing as the last, so I am quite happy with it.
I will include a Dropbox link that has a couple resolutions, and a version without the dots.

Also, its a trap.
Edit: Made the middle finger and the pinky for her right hand less pointy (thanks Phluxxor!)
Edit2: A very small coloring edit that no one will notice except me.

Glad you like it! Some artists can make traps so deceiving, haha.

Turned out good JPGC, It was painful watching you do all the gmesh but it was worth it in the end.

I don't understand 90% of the process you describe, but the end result looks pretty sweet.
