aaah! that was an intense movie.
this was very well done too, you captured the mischievity of the original which is what gave it such appeal

Thank you very much. O man, that movie was so good. There were lots of images to choose from but I really wanted to draw that spoon.

Thank you. I thought that it was really important. It seemed to say a lot about her character.

Very nice. Her eyes do look great, as does the spoon.

Thank you. Oddly enough the spoon was fairly easy, but it came out better then I had expected.

thats fucking cool, captured her cheekiness perfectly, the tones in your work is always so lovely.
you have to see this movie!
not only is it heart warming and very clever, but the artistic direction, (the specific use of green and red) you would apprechiate it mr.film maker.

Thank you very much. Yeah I spend a lot of time coloring. I usually pull colors from the picture, but I have to pick and choose which colors go where. Then I usually adjust them a little bit. I do have to see that movie. I hear nothing but good things.

O_O super cute, seriously. approximately, how much time does it take for you to do this?

JohnQPhats In reply to JessicaDru [2007-03-17 03:49:50 +0000 UTC]
Depends, this one? Roughly 9-10 hours of work. Her sweater was really hard to do, but I really wanted all that detail. So I spent a little extra time on it. I also really wanted to try a new technique with the hair, so I messed around with it a bit.

Seriously, i forget how much work goes into digital pieces. I especially like what you did with the sweater. I wish there were more color variation to the hair, but i'm being totally selfish wanting that. it looks great!

Thank you. Yeah, I'm still trying to perfect hair. I like to simplify pictures by giving them straight edges, and breaking things in to different colors rather then shades. But I feel like you can't really do that with hair. Maybe next time I'll throw some gradients here and here in just the hair to see how it works.
