Description I was asked to make a nerf gun that had the finish of an 1800s Colt revolver...not sure if I nailed it, but I liked the results regardless. Now to see if he's statisfied!

i just noticed that the N-Strike logo isn't on there. how did you make it "disappear"?

Oh, that's just sanded down with about 150-220 grit sandpaper

Well, you should sand nerf guns before painting anyways, oh and don't forget plastic primer :3

Thanks Marc! Classic for a reason, right? It's amazing how good "simple" can look

Heck yeah! With your skills, it screams 'real metal' and you can almost feel the heft of the steel looking at it! I can never quite nail that look down... I faved it for inspiration!

the finish looks completely authentic, but i think firing it might require wrist reinforcing technology...

might have a good kick, I agree

this looks amazing. *goes to grab own Nerf Maverick for comparison* yours is easily ____ times better than the original paint job. i have to know, what kind of paint do you use to make these look so damn awesome?

JohnsonArmsProps In reply to AssassinAltair93 [2012-07-01 06:16:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I use Testor Model Masters paints for the more earth tones they offer. The acrylic is really nice for clean up and less toxic fumes

AssassinAltair93 In reply to JohnsonArmsProps [2012-07-01 15:41:26 +0000 UTC]

and it makes a simple Nerf gun look much more realistic i must say, you take some of the worst colors that Nerf can use, and make it look so much better with the colors you use.

does that seem at all confusing the way i wordered that? or do you understand what i'm getting at?

I mean, from the picture it looks to match my replica Colt revolver, so, still, damn good job.
