Description Now that you've met Daniel Dukke and Ferdinand Fox, let me introduce you to two of their chief villains--The Hench-Bunnies.

This halter-topped and miniskirted pair of miscreants expertly employ all matter of weapons to create mayhem and destruction, sometimes for pay, and sometimes for kicks.

Skilled enough to survive multiple encounters with both the Dukke of Death and the Teenage Killing Machine, The Hench Bunnies present a unique threat due to the usually deadly Ferdinand's critical awkwardness around members of the fairer sex.

One bat of an eye, and the slayer of 1,000 ninjas is out of the fight. It's tragic really.

The Hench Bunnies, as well as Deeds and Ferdy are totally © John H. Staton.

So again you said you did a book with these characters? I'd love to see it.

Just send me your address in a note, and I'll fire you off a copy. Personally, I think the humor still holds up, (Although, admittedly, I'm not the most objective source.) but I should warn you in advance that I was in the middle of learning how to draw during the early parts of the book.

I'll be curious to see what you think of it.

Is that a Maxim or a Vickers?

JohnStaton In reply to Gideon020 [2009-12-29 19:08:08 +0000 UTC]

Its a M1915 Vickers. It's been a while since I researched the references for this drawing, but I think the parallel groves along outer housing of the cooling apparatus are one of the details that allows one to better distinguish it from the Maxim.

You deserve some kind of reward for even being able to ask that question. How about a pencil sketch--Name your character.

That's kind of you, thank you. Hmm, I'm a fan of the Wolfenstein games, so mayhaps you could do a pic of one of the enemies from Return to Castle Wolfenstein; The Venom Chaingun Trooper, standing at rest with the weapon hanging at his side?

JohnStaton In reply to Gideon020 [2009-12-30 20:33:01 +0000 UTC]

Actually I was expecting something more along the lines of Wonder Woman, or Power Girl. Or Wonder Woman pinning Power Girl in a wrestling match--that sort of thing.

I can do this Venom Guy from this game I've never heard of certainly, but as you can probably guess, I'm going to really need some references to do it right. If you have links to any jpegs, feel free to send me a note.

>.< Oh no, you really need to look up fashion lingo. Neither are in halter tops and only one is in a mini skirt

Haha, besides that! I want to see these two colored!

JohnStaton In reply to bandeau [2009-12-29 19:14:03 +0000 UTC]

Don't I get any credit for being able to distinguish a M1915 Vickers from an M1910 Maxim?

I'll look into halter tops, (Big Chore that.) but how are the both not wearing miniskirts? Their hem lines are well above their knees. What am I missing?

You too deserve a sketch for nailing me on this technical flub.

Name your character.

Of course you get credit for that But it's a wonderful thing to master all the elements, isn't it? (not that I can tell a Magnum from an airsoft gun...)

You got me on one of the hem lines. A miniskirt can only be a miniskirt if it is separate from the top. So the bunny in the front is wearing a miniskirt, but the bunny in the back is wearing a dress, so it would simply be a lowback mini.

So I don't know if I deserve a sketch still or not haha! But I do love your artwork, so a sketch of *me* would be wonderful!

(Am I egotistically or just not creative? Possibly a bit of both!)

JohnStaton In reply to bandeau [2009-12-31 13:26:51 +0000 UTC]

A sketch of you eh? That quite a bold thing to propose after all this talk of halter tops and miniskirts. (Or "butt tourniguets", as I occasionally like to call them.)

I find myself tempted to use this as an opportunity to correct my previous fashion faux pas.

You'd get a machine gun too, of course.

Oh! Oh! Oh! How about this gun? [link] istol&toggle=tp&breadcrumbseries=LF1 HAHA. When I first saw this gun my brother in law commented on how badass it was, then I told him "You're kidding right? It looks like something a pimp white suite wearing black guy would carry around while getting his nails done" and I've been attached to it ever since

And as for clothing...considering what I'm KNOWN for wearing...I don't think it could be that bad.

I'd say those say it all 7,000 words in fact.

Could you try sending the link for the gun again? When I clicked on it, I got a site, but no picture of any specific firearm came up, and I must confess your description has certainly whetted my interest. When I look at your message here I see an emoticon and some gibberish immediately following the link. I figure that some DA protocol probably confused part of your original link.

Very curious to see your other links.

Hee hee hee.

Pimped out thought this may be, this is actually a fairly common gun. Or at the very least, a replica of a popular firearm.

This is a Taurus PT92, which, despite a few minor details, is pretty much a licensed reproduction of the infamous Beretta Model
92
. [link]

The Model 92 was Bruce Willis' sidearm in "Die Hard" [link] (Remember the climactic scene where he taped a pistol to his back? That was a '92.) It was also Mel Gibson's sidearm in Lethal Weapon [link] , and has been the standard issue sidearm for soldiers in the United States Army, Airforce, and Marine Corps since 1985, under the designation M9. [link]

You sure you wouldn't want something more exotic?

Beretta did make a machine-gun version of the Model 92, called the 93R [link] . Looks a little bit like Megatron and "pimping it out" would be a simple matter of photoshop.

Just a thought.

bandeau In reply to JohnStaton [2010-01-02 19:55:56 +0000 UTC]

I more or less just meant the tacky pearl and gold for the aesthetics of the gun. I've never been a fan of the "big" guns, despite me always taking the machine guns in Resident Evil. I'd prefer a drop leg holster with two beretta's haha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohnStaton In reply to bandeau [2010-01-02 23:56:57 +0000 UTC]

Do you mean "big" as in "physically large firearm", or do you mean "big" as in "widely used"?

Oh well, no big deal, I see here that the overall "pimpage" is the main factor.

A drop leg rig is a good suggestion, as it would go well with a nice, shiny butt tourniquet ; I think a shoulder rig would also be good, cause it would show off yer--er--halter top! (Don't worry, I'll do my fashion research this time.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bandeau In reply to JohnStaton [2010-01-03 19:25:06 +0000 UTC]

Big as in Physically large I have very bad tendinitis, too much weight on my hands/arms/wrists and I wouldn't be able to lift it after a few minutes

Don't know how well a shoulder rig would work with a halter top, it would probably pull it down. (No funny stuff! haha)

I think it's mostly from around the "Game Show" where the turtle was put on the spot naming the color of the bunny's eyes. ("They're black! It's a black and white comic!")
