Description First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIRA-CHAN!!! (it's 's birthday today)

I know you don't like Sess/Kag and I've been doing a few of those types of pictures lately.... so I thought I would draw a Sess/Rin! Yes, and it's young Rin... although probably a bit older than she was on the show. Think of that what you will.

I was inspired by 's fic "Burial of the Dead" [link] but there's no sex in the pic... and the image is a bit happier than the story... but anyway..

The title was inspired by the third Inuyasha movie where Sesshoumaru thinks of Rin and Jaken when he thinks of someone he wants to protect, and he says he has no one he wants to protect (what a lie!). I just watched it today and thought it fit the image well as a title. (What a good movie, BTW!!!)

This was coloured rather quickly - I was trying something a bit different out this time. Big, loose brushwork. It was fun!

I really like how you drew Sesshoumaur's profile in this one. And I also like what his shirt/kimono/whatever is doing. Something about the way the folds work, I dunno.

Well, I have my favorites - mostly canon, except for one. There are some pairings I just can't abide, too. It's not hard to see from my favorites (and my own gallery) which pairings I support and which I don't.

Well I would loooove to make a living doing art! I am a painter, actually.. and I have a university degree in traditional art, but I've been learning how to paint in Photoshop in the past few months. I'm still very much a beginner. Thanks very much! Such high praise! I'll get a swelled head!

im workin on a degree history though art minor....i mostly stick to traditional when i can break away from my propensity to do chessy romantic fanart... LOL i wish i had half your talent but then again i dont like usin the comp much i like my art to be hands on u know its my baby i must love it personally....

I definitely know what you mean! I have a painting studio where I get my hands dirty, literally! I get very physical with my paintings sometimes as well! I like the digital medium because it is so very different, and so clean! I have my studio where it's smelly like oil paint and wax and then I have home where it is cleaner to use the computer. I use a tablet, so it's like painting sort-of.... Keep up the art-making! It's too much fun!

I love Fanart that's drawn in the fanartists style. It's annoying to see fanart where it's the same style as the character, and just copied. I LOVE this picture, you draw incredible hair, and your profiles are nice too. Sesshy's head seems big, but that could be the flowing hair. (The flowers are a cute touch, btw) Or, perhaps, it might be because Rin has child proportions here..Ah, whatever. I like your skin shading, except for that one spot above his temple. It seems out of place, too dark, or not blended enough. But the rest is good. And again I have to say, you draw beautiful hair!

Thanks very much! I'm glad you like it and my way of drawing the characters! Yes, I agree it is so much more enjoyable when you see fan art in an individual style rather than cookie-cutter anime style.

Yes, Sessh's head appears to be large, but that's in relation to small Rin (and he does have quite a lot of hair!) I was trying out a new style of colouring, and tried to keep it loose and flowy - with the bit at the temple I guess I was a bit lazy! I would have preferred it to have been a bit lighter and more blended. I may improve on it later on. Thanks for your comment! I have a tutorial on hair if you're interested in how I do it.
