true but sometimes they also try to cover themselves in primer to try to lure someone in to trust them and accept them from what really hides beneathe which is sad that they didnt trust the other to begin with because when the primer breaks away and they start scratching at the surface its hard to determine what will happen however i choose to shine through no mater what color people try to paint on me if they cant see it then they must have covered their eyes lol

Oh yeah, that happens all the time. But even if people don't paint themselves in the best light, if 'love chemicals' are floating around people get 'love goggles' and they minimize the undesirable stuff until such time as those natural endorphins wear off. That's mother nature's fault, or else maybe no one would procreate - hahahaha.

I think the thing is that you just have to be open to accepting another person for who they are. Often if one person is prepared to do it the other person freaks out, or something. But of course, people do get together and stay together too - so there is always room for hope and faith. I've just not had much luck in my life.
