Ra's al Ghul was born in the times of Ancient Egypt, under the rule of Prince Khufu and his bride, Chay-Ara. Before taking the name of Ra's, he was once a strong warrior, only ever defeated by one man, the Prince's Champion Teth-Adam. But when the Wizard, Nabu, told the Prince of a mystical object, falling from the sky in their realm, the Prince swiftly left with the Wizard and his Champion to find it. But he followed them for a while, blending himself in with the surroundings so he was not to be seen. This was when he found the first Lazarus Pit, falling into a hole that he didn't see due to a sandstorm. People lived at the bottom of this pit, they called themselves Demons.

The Demons worshipped the unnamed figure, with his strength of 10 men and how he fell from the sky. In their minds, he was a blessing from the Gods. He would soon be their leader, taking the first bathe in the Lazarus Pit which fixes his broken bones after his fall. They name him Ra's al Ghul, which translates into "Head of the Demon". A small group of them were fine skilled warriors, later to become Assassins, who by the people were called the "Demon-Fang".

As times passed by, Ra's kept bathing in the pit, regaining strength and renewing his age over the years. The Demon's were soon being heard of throughout the Eastern Empire, and later the Western too. Around 17th Century was when he arrived in England. He brought the Demon-Fang with him, and they became known as the League of Assassins, working in the dark and the shadows to kill those who need to be.

Living for hundreds of years, Ra's has learned a thing or two, especially in the subjects of science. He had helped many of history's big figures in their work, although he was never named. He did not want to be, and never would have a famous reputation to his name. But with the Lazarus Chemical, he created a few products out of it which he started selling in London, along side a small boy he'd picked up. However this child started writing about Ra's in his documents and texts, this couldn't be left to happen, so they were burnt and the child slaughtered.

He moved to America when that started to develop, a brighter future was seen there. He took the Lazarus with him and that was where he and his League were based for a good many years, creating an alliance between them and Bruce Wayne during the mid-20th Century. When this alliance broke, Ra's fled back to Egypt with his lover, Melisande. They had a daughter together in America, but brought her up properly in Egypt, teaching her many forms of physical violence and techniques. Talia - that is what they named her. Two other children were born during their time together, before Talia, but both were rejected.

With the League of Assassins, he taught Bruce Wayne in many art forms of physical violence when he came for help. However, Ra's wished to see how Bruce got on with the help after he'd gone back to America. So Ra's followed him, taking up the name of Henry Duccard when he'd arrived so no one could tell who he was.

Now he watches, through the eyes of his spies and Assassins, working as the force behind his Daughter Talia.
