Sipping slowly on the bourbon looking at the sky,
taking in deep breathes every time I look at my life in disgust.
Ragged and tattered scarred and blurred,
what has this life given to me that I haven't returned?
Scriptural blessings upon my head they never turned out the same,
solemnly promised to end the era of the worst.

Turn around young women and men for today is the day,
we sat for so long pondering the stars and the nature of things.
I tried to say I warned you for the following trip,
but these warnings were too subtle and you didn't read behind the lines.
Distant now I creep up closer to the demise of mankind,
slower and slower the knifes digs deeper into the abyss of streets.

Tried to be a man of marvelous tales and venturous wastelands,
now I sit here drinking out of a bottle planning my revenge.
You wanted a modern day man in this modern day society,
they ended up with a biological mistake with chemicals induced to prolong the inevitable.
