OKay sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I've been playing Smash Ultimate.......a lot and uhhh GUESS WHO I MAIN (I use a lot of characters but STILL)Yea okay I'm frickin trash cause I main Sanic so I wanted to express my trashiness by drawing his pose from Smash (with chibi Shadow and Knuckles in the background cause they just ASSIST TROPHIES AND NOT A FIGHTER AHFKJASHGJADGLHGAJLJKADHGKLJAHGLKJHALKJGH yes I'd want more Sonic characters in Smash and not Snas fight me)

I remember people were theorizing about Shadow being an echo fighter since Knux was an assist... I wish they were right... I'd take Shadow over Pirahna Plant (No matter how fun he is to play)

I honestly think Classic Sonic could make a good echo (Although they'd have to change his Neutral B since he can't Homing Attack). Shadow is too unique from Sonic to be an echo in my opinion.
I also think they should change his Side B or Down B and Change his Down Air to the Bounce Bracelet

Shadow can spin dash and homing attack like sonic since sonic adventure 2 and in sonic forces (well also generations if you look at the boss fight closely) he can also to the booster. Plus when comes to playing as shadow people like him more as sonic clone the moment to became unique with the vehicles and combat spamming in 06 and fire arms in shadow the hedgehog the game that is when people hated him. If shadow were an echo fighter I feel they would pull off a chrom and have shadow's up special be mewtwo's up special but would be labeled as the short distance chaos control and stuff like his chaos spear and his other energy attacks from sonic battle would work as smash attacks and chaos blast would be integrated into his final smash some how.

When it comes to smash ultimate Sonic's representation got the short end of the deal. It's better then final fantasy 7's representation but still not a single new sonic character as a fighter for smash and even one new remix of an existing sonic track. All we got was all the old content from the last two games (with the exception of one music track), three additional songs (one from mania and two from forces), and one new assist trophy (though let's be honest what knuckles does as an assist trophy goes against his character. Knuckles never did the homing attack and he was never a clone of sonic, seriously just look at how he performs in the game and compare his movements to sonic, the only thing that makes knuckles different is the punch upper cut combo and the borrowing under ground thing.). Now I'am glad that Joker from persona 5 is our third sega rep from come on sonic deserved a new character way more especially since sonic is the only third party series since brawl to ever stay in smash consistently in the last 10 to 11 years. Not sure if I should blame sakurai or SEGA for this. (or both)

I completely agree, it's unfair there isn't a new Sonic character for Smash considering Sonic is the oldest third party veteran and I'd really like to play as another Sonic character too

Hell I would of been fine with knuckles as the assist trophy IF shadow was a playable echo fighter of sonic or shadow as an assist once more if knuckles was a playable fighter and wasn't already confirmed as an assist from the get go while shadow was held off for so damn long. I would of been fine with any of those two set ups.
Hell, I know I'm going to get hate from the sakurai loyalists for saying this but, Project M did justice for knuckles better than smash ultimate did. Project M made him into a fun looking and some what unique character to play as. Seriously just look at these videos (second video is mock up of a smash 4 trailer but it does a great job at show casing)
