I loved both of the new Far cry's and since the next one may include dinosaurs I'm sticking on board
Oh, and the philosophy of judging a game based in the people make it is also somewhat if not entirely faulty because of only one extremely valid example
Daikatana and Deus Ex were made by the same people

I got Far Cry 4. I'll probably enjoy the hell out of it.
That being said, I'll treat them like I treat EA. I'll likely enjoy the game, I just wouldn't pay for it. And if I must get it, wait until it either gets fixed or drops in price, or both.
Never got into Assassin's Creed. Never will. I'd rather play Call of Duty 20000 than do that

I agree with the principle of avoiding those studios who have produced nothing but turds, that's only sense. I won't listen to new music by Muse anymore because 95% of their last two albums were dreadful noise for example. On the other hand, there is a bit of a gap between declaring Assassins Creed titles bad/broken and saying Micheal Bay films are awful. Bay makes movies for those who want to see big action sequences. I don't go into the theater expecting anything else, and he delivers.

used the first three games. Cool, but the story is a cicle. They got a good idea and they keep using it until it blows. As for me, I don't care about graphics, or I would say that Mass Effect is one of the best games in history with the crappiest ending possible. Actually it was the first game I stopped playing after they spoiled me the ending.
However ubisoft has the titles. Beyond Good and Evil was not so bad

I feel like Ubisoft has become like Bethesda; the glitches in their games are not only expected at this point, they've become part of their charm.
I'll let others decide if that's funny or sad.

So far, there have been only three games that have actually implemented Unity to proper effect. Most developers don't know how to use the engine properly, and quite frankly I blame the creators of Unity for that.

I would have to strongly agree with you on that. I stopped buying any Ubisoft titles for PC after getting ANNO 2070 on Steam. APparently in order to actually PLAY the game you need a ubisoft account, much like one for xbox live or PSN, only without hte monthly fee. The account is so you can earn achievements and LINK the game to your account via a code.
I'll let that settle for a moment.....
I purchased Watchdogs b/c I thought it was a unique idea for a game. I gave it a chance and it did offer what I was hoping for. *spoilers: at this point I'm going to give some of hte story away*
However, when it came to the story it started off with the simple arc: Man loses daughter to a hired assissin and so our 'protagonist' goes out on the quest. During the story it takes us to a point where we have to infiltrate this facility....Now at this point I was NOT expecting it, at all from a game company let alone a game. The facility is actually an underground human trafficing / sex slave auction house. Where crime lords and mob bosses go to purchase and rape women. These aren't prostitutes, these are women who were kidnapped on the streets, beaten, raped and sold to be raped.
There were points where you hack into cameras to see what's happening and you see women crying their eyes out on a bed, butt naked, as the 'man' gets dressed not giving a damn about the girl.
The next part has the player going into the actual auction floor, where women are sold like cattle. Bare breasted and all with large monitors showing the girl for their bid offers.
....
The sheer sight of this not only disgusted me but it showed me the kind of people are working at Ubisoft, clearly no standards or morals.
I mean this kind of visual detailing should have earned the game an AO rating!
At the start of the game my Dad watched me play just to see how the game and story looked, he loved the visuals. I thank my Lucky Stars he did NOT see this scene. I would have been so ashamed if he thought I was into this kind of thing. I didn't even know THIS was in the game.
Now there was a side quest to find and report those who took part IN the auction house to the feds. Which I did with gusto. After that I put the game away and haven't touched it since. Not even for a replay value.
Thanks to THAT particular, visual representation I am never ever buying or patronizing Ubisoft.
From a writing stand point, I get they were trying to get across that the mastermind behind all this is an evil mother f*cking bastard that deserves to die. But to put it into a game is not only disgusting it is a slanderous slap in the face to artists and the game industry.
Apologies for my wall of text. As I said: I support your rant about Ubisoft...more like U-be-suck

You're absolutely right; it is perfectly acceptable to really outright say you think a game is going to be bad because the studio's previous releases have been such. It's like saying "I don't know what this new Michael Bay movie is about, but I'm sure it's going to have lots of tit and ass shots."
I think it's very telling that Ubisoft gave an unbelievably pandering and weak "excuse" at E3 2014 when they said they had "come so close" to being able to include female assassins as well. Jim Sterling made the point that they didn't have to do anything that remarkably different, and even if they did, with how much profit they've made off the previous games, it shouldn't be that big a deal and fans really want that kind of diversity. So what's the deal?
From what I've been seeing and hearing, Ubisoft is getting right up there with EA with extremely shady business practices.

Personally i've been having a ball with Unity, only issues have been the synch/connection issues with Uplay/Initiates but those dont affect the actual gameplay. From what i've heard, its PC that's having the most problems with glitches, i believe at least. Black Flag i also had a lot of fun with, it was just the story (too much pirates of the carribean in ratio to actual Assassin/Templar stuff) that docked a few points. Im playing on the PS4 and i might be a minority here (Connor is actually my favorite Assassin so there's also my super minority standpoint *shrug*) but I really like the Assassin Creed series.
Watch_Dogs was a whole mixed bag of problems though (story and gameplay choices mostly) so i'm with you on that.

The PC version of Black flag plays fine (I have it. Good for bored wandering and random sillyness) But it also has it's share of bugs. I've never had the 'game fails to save' bug that's wiped out people's games.... At least one guy had the Jackdaw think it was the Flying Dutchman.

Sometime a developer can completely break away from their poor run and produce something great (Tell tale) but that's because they put the effort in and let the game sell itself.
I know somethings up when 'game play trailer' is the first 15 minutes which a scripted, in game trailer.
Evil Within, Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Watchdogs.
I find the bigger and flashier the presentation the shittier the game.

Far Cry... You know. I don't like Far Cry mainly because the past 2 games had an absolute shitty story that I didn't enjoy. Sure the games did have some elements of gameplay that I liked but for the most part the world your character lived in seemed very fictional and dead. "Skyrim with guns" They claimed. That was complete bull shit. Skyrim with guns is Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas. Far Cry 3 was like a mix of all the bad things in Borderlands and a few of the good things in Fallout 3 covered in a crappy story that often took away your freedom and choices and left you continuously saying "WHAT THE FUCK!"

I do sort of agree with you here, but not EVERY assassins creed is as bad as what Unity is doing. I actually rather enjoyed Black Flag, as I a bit of a sucker for old 18th century sailing ships and the like. But, dont forget Unity isn't the only title they released. Assassins Creed Rogue is actually a decent game, which was released along side Unity for 360 users. Its just like Black Flag in the sense that you sail a ship around to different locals, fight and sink ships for money/resources/ect, and then have missions and what not on land. The only big differences from BF is the fact that the game takes place 20 or so years after BF(or something like that)
I do rather enjoy that game. It has its problems tho, the story isn't quite as well written as Black Flag, but it has its moments. I haven't run into very many bugs as of yet, just an odd one here or there. They seem to have also reused the ship model from Black Flag, but just changed some minor things around, but it still looks like the same base model.
Anyway, I wouldn't completely bash Ubisoft becuase of just a couple games, even if they are pretty bad, because they do have a few good games as well.

I agree and disagree. AC Unity is pretty broken, I'll give you that, but not all their games are bad. They've made a couple good ones
1. I found Assassins Creed Black Flag (the pirate one) pretty well done. A couple greivances here and there.
2. Never finished Far Cry 3, but it seemed decent (real emphasis on decent)
3. Total War games. Though Rome 2 was a piece of shit when it first appeared

On every console generation one or two of the big ones falls, in the past generation THQ pushed the selfdestroy button. Capcom, Namco, Square, EA and Ubisoft are just playing with gasoline close to a fire..... You work on the industry and you know how unstable are the companies, even the big ones.

I had hope for Unity, despite feeling like the series hit its high point with Assassin's Creed III, and wasn't going to top that any time soon. Seeing this game be released in worse shape than Sonic Boom is depressing.
I mean, the game will get patched and be fine six or so months from now, but is meeting deadlines earlier really worth it? Players should not be paying full price to do the alpha or beta testers' jobs. I'm tired of seeing games bomb on Metacritic simply over their technical issues. That's distracting from whether the game on a design level has any merit.
