Funny how people criticize Trump about closing up the internet (Note how Trump never says turning off the internet; that was the first sentence of the article added by the author and not a Donald Trump quote.Β  I hope you read more than the first sentence), which the article goes on to say may mean he wants to violate your freedom of speech and/or ban the internet (the author never did make up his mind about that).

Yet you guys never go on to how Obama tried to censor the heck out of the internet (note this is the first of over 500,000 articles on the matter when I typed in Obama and Censor Internet): dailysignal.com/2016/09/08/oba…

What's wrong with fixing trade, taking care of our veterans, cracking down on illegal immigration, bringing back jobs, and eliminating political correctness?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZachValkyrie In reply to TopSecretName [2016-08-01 01:15:01 +0000 UTC]

Donny is a scam artist. He has no interest in fixing anything.

Also, illegal immigration is at a net negative right now. There are currently more undocumented aliens leaving the United States than are coming in. That will happen when you have eight years of austerity and eight more years of political deadlock, not to mention decades of wage stagnation.

Taking care of veterans and bringing back jobs and fixing those disastrous trade deals are all good ideas of course. But they're never going to happen in the current political climate, because there's more money to be had by locking up veterans in private prisons and outsourcing all manufacturing jobs.

If this is to change, the first thing that has to happen is a complete ban on monetary political contributions and public funding of elections. This would allow politicians to make policy decisions without having to rely on the continued support of rich donors (or as it's known elsewhere in the world: Corruption). This means overturning Citizens United as soon as possible, and probably passing another constitutional amendment to set this in stone.

And finally, "Political Correctness" is a cultural thing. It's not something that can be "eliminated" by political means. Sorry.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TopSecretName In reply to ZachValkyrie [2016-08-01 01:34:34 +0000 UTC]

If he had no interest in fixing things he wouldn't be running.

I haven't seen the statistics that say we're at a negative as far as illegal immigration goes. Can I get a source for that claim from you?Β

I see you're taking a negative stance against wealthy donors. Trump is the only candidate who has been firmly against them(don't bring up the ancient socialist, he was a slave to the establishment too). He's also against the rampant outsourcing of our factories that you mentioned earlier.

I'm not saying that we can pass a policy to destroy PC but with Big Don taking office it would be a huge victory against the batshit crazy SJWs. We squashed PC in the 90s and if we beat it again now it will lose at the height of its power.

ZachValkyrie In reply to TopSecretName [2016-08-01 02:24:33 +0000 UTC]

First things first: Sources for the immigration stats: here , here , here , and here .

Trump is not genuinely interested in the responsibilities of the office of President of the United States. This was perfectly encapsulated in that story where Trump basically tried to fob off all the duties of the presidency on a potential VP pick. All of this speaks to a nagging insincerity about his candidacy. And given that he was originally persuaded to run by Bill Clinton, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump tries to concede the race even if he wins enough electoral votes.

The only thing Sanders did wrong was try to run a clean campaign. That might be a requirement in Europe, but here in the States, the prisoner's dilemma crops up pretty quickly. If he had been the democratic nominee, he would have won the presidency by a landslide, and every poll shows it. The only reason Trump got as far as he did was because of unending media exposure (thanks FOX News) and because of the flagrant corruption of the DNC following the implosion of the Republican establishment.

And if anything, a Trump presidency would most likely galvanize and strengthen the forces of political correctness. In much the same was that Barack Obama couldn't have won without eight years of Bush to prime the field. Ironically, a Trump defeat would likely result in less political correctness, as a female presidency would remove the last vestiges of the "glass ceiling" myth that has been the last remaining bulwark against the continued balkanization of academic feminism.

I will admit though, Trump is the only candidate who is correct about Nuclear Power, though he's still a bit too cozy with natural-gas for my taste.

TopSecretName In reply to ZachValkyrie [2016-08-01 16:46:08 +0000 UTC]

I wanna thank you for bringing forth your sources, I appreciate that.

I sincerely don't believe that Donald's candidacy is some sort of veiled sabotage of the election. It makes no sense, if he was hired to sabotage the Republicans why would he take such an extreme stance? If Hillary didn't perceive him as a threat to her then why does she endlessly attack him? Hell, the entire Democratic convention was just "Donald Trump is a meanie" and nothing else.

I also doubt that the victory of a politically incorrect candidate would somehow strengthen PC. You're correct; this war is no longer political, it is cultural now. We saw a perfect example in the Gamergate incident where a bunch of gamers stood up to the liberal 3rd wave feminists and said, "I'm not a sexist, go fuck yourself." Look what happened! They won! Now they can play their video games in peace. I think there's a similar vibe among the Trump supporters who are sick and tired of being called racist simply because the liberal media has labeled them as such.

I realize that I cannot convince you to change your political views and vice versa. But I nevertheless appreciate the discussion. So thanks for that.
