I played a lot of Banjo Kazooie and Tooie back in the day. To me that pretty much defined what was best about n64 (that and Dk 64). PS2 kind of picked up where n64 left off when it came to progressing platformers.Β
I hope they give them a wide array of powers based on their animal heritage. Like changing color for camoflauge and invisibility, using her tongue like a whip, and maybe even being able to target 2 enemies at once since Chameleons can look at 2 things at once (this would help if she was dual wielding something like pistols or swords, although that seems RARE possibility for a platformer). Also, like in the way Kazooie had egg attacks, the bat could have sonic attacks. I dunno, I'm just speculating.Β
Purple bat and a lizard? Huh, fuze these characters together and give them Sonic's attitude and Frodo's over sensitivity, and you would have Spyro the Dragon.Β

One homage that I know was successful was the music video to the Mystery Skulls song Ghost. Β That is obviously takes lots of elements from the Scooby Doo franchise, but changes them enough to have its own identity. I think more than being negative at Microsoft for dismantling one of the best studios around, Im more happy that Rares soul is back together in all but name.
And from what I see of these two, this game is going to be big.Β As in this is what they could do in THREE months.Β on Unity.Β Theyre giving it a year.Β On a tenth of the budget big games require.Β It might not be no Banjo Kazooie, but I am completely convinced, that this is going to be a smash hit in 2016 when it launches.

As soon as I heard Grant Kirkhope was writing music for the game, I had to get on board. The soundtrack for Banjo-Kazooie was absolutely brilliant!
