Hi there, this is the writer/colorist for Sanity Within Dystopia.  I feel the need to be nosy and respond, even if I don't really work on these comics—though my additions to ItOC include a few of the titles, setting up the font, base concepts for some of the strips, a lot of the lettering, and even the names for Roy, Barnaby and Ichabod himself.  Sounds like a lot when I put it like that, but it's literally the least I can do.

ItOC is more Ayla's style, and it's the kind of thing she likes to see when looking at other people's art.  It's a comic she makes for herself, and is highly attracted to the idea that it brings joy to other people.  She responds especially well when she receives comments from fans telling her how a small strip can change their day for the better.  She's typically an optimist, and loves to share that with others.  But she has a surprisingly dark sense of humor as well.  She likes and has been inspired by such twisted creations like Ren & Stimpy, Invader ZIM, Psychonauts, Happy Tree Friends, The Binding of Isaac... stuff with at least some inclusion of "cute" things (very subjective word there) having terrible things happening to them.  Seeing as I'm a grouchy pessimist and share a lot of the same humor as Ayla, Sanity Within Dystopia becomes this weird monster of cute things trying to get out of a terrible place; it's weird and cruel, but it's meant to be funny through its ludicrous theme.

To summarize, she'd probably not make SWD the way it is if it wasn't for me.  Not that she doesn't have a hand in the initial brainstorming of anything I write for it, but there you are.

As for the MLP stuff, she happens to be the lead artist for TrotCon .  You should also see Duality for a taste of something else different she does (it's an Invader ZIM fancomic we used to make, though it's been on hiatus for over a year).
