Description Werewolves are interesting creatures which I have had the privilege to study, otherwise unreasonably close.
First off, I should dispel a myth which has 'defined' the werewolf in many Hollywood films. They do not howl at the moon. They do, however, vocalize in order to keep track of their fellow pack members. Werewolves usually have above average vocal cords in their human states, but have average normal voices. They have reasonably sharp teeth, but not as sharp as a wolves, because of their human traits. Their nails are usually longer than regular humans, however, and they grow back very fast. Out of the traits taste, smell, hearing, and sight, a werewolf maybe only have one or two of these skills above average, while the others must remain human quality.
They express a variety of human emotions, but somewhat differently and more intense. Their facial features may be more exaggerated and they may use posture or hand gestures to express themselves. An upset or angered werewolf will usually hunch down and attempt to scurry as far away from the source of the distress as fast as possible. A happy werewolf is often characterized by an excess amount of energy and a huge, happy smile.
Werewolf hierarchy is made up much like a wolves.
There is always an alpha female or male and possibly his or her mate as the leader(s) of their pack. A pack is a group in which they usually reside within; hunting and socializing solely within the pack is not uncommon. (2 members can be a minimum, while 10 is a max)Β Β Alphas stay together for long periods of time and when one is lost, the other grieves until another is found.
Next in power is the beta. There can also be two betas in a pack. Betas are the second command the Alpha(s) turn to in time of need. The betas are very much trusted with the rest of the pack as well.
The very bottom of the pack is called the omega. This individual is looked down upon by the rest of the pack, usually getting picked on by the rest and getting the last of a share of food or substance.
The werewolves do not have to remain in a pack, however. There are separate individuals named 'lone', and they wander alone (as the name suggests) , but sometimes are admitted into a pack if the Alphas take them to a liking.
Werewolves are fiercely loyal to their pack and will destroy almost anything that threatens it. All members of the pack are trusted to watch after the younger ones.
A werewolves diet can be anything a human can eat, and anything a wolf will eat. Typically, they tend to lean more to the meat side, concerning food and are common to be very hungry, but can also survive on little food for at least 3 days without feeling much hunger . They will eat raw or cooked meat.

NEW

Werewolves born to werewolf parents will have enhanced abilities and will almost always have golden eyes when they are older. Younger werewolves have blue eyes, and as they get older (about seven years of age), their eyes change colors, ranging to any human eye color PLUS the wolf golden. Blue eyes are very rare for older werewolves, as they almost always only occur when the werewolf is young. When they become older, around an age of 30, they will usually retire from their pack and settle down with their spouse/mate and find a place in society, if at all possible.
Werewolves tend to forge a strong bond with domesticated canines, especially those who have descended selectively from wolves, like malamutes. These canines are often used as companions for tracking, recreation, or social activities. Werewolves, possessing wolf qualities, can speak to them.
Werewolves can change into their wolf forms at any time they choose, but it is only uncontrollable under certain conditions: the full moon and a time of danger. These creatures tend to accumulate a lot of anger and sometimes need a place to exert it, otherwise they may be weakened by their desire to use this rage.
Werewolves try to stay in the same place as long as possible and will not become nomads for as long as they can possibly delay it.
Werewolves generally have very warm skin, and this trait is derived by the fur they posses in their wolf forms. In this sense, they will tolerate cold temperatures, which otherwise they would despise as humans. Werewolves are very active during the winter, which is a result of their wolf instinct taking an effect on them.

As I find out more about this species of.. myth.. I will continue to share, thank you.
