Galaxy Class Battleships are the best! Nice design!

Thanks. I need to get back to this eventually and finish it up.
I tried to keep it toned down and not go too overboard. That being said, I've always thought that under the right circumstances, the Galaxy class could be upgraded to be a considerably more powerful threat. There's just so much room in that ship that would in its standard configuration would go unused in a combat scenario. All those science labs, cargo bays, spacious crew quarters, and family amenities. Strip those out and upgrade her warp core and you could load her to bear with backup shield generators, ablative armor, and additional torpedo launchers with plenty of room for sizable ammo stores.

They could have even kept the general appearance the same for All Good Things and made her a far more formidable opponent without adding the third nacelle or the huge phaser cannon.
I've never understood that idea in trek, where some people think that if you add a third nacelle to a ship, it makes it a battlecruiser. They did it with the Galaxy and they I've seen countless people do it with older ships like the Constitution class. Adding a third nacelle doesn't make your ship more powerful. Maybe you can gain some measure of speed or endurance in terms of how long you can maintain high warp speeds, but the ship isn't going to be more of a threat because it can go faster or go fast longer. If anything, that third nacelle is going to be a drain on your warp core so unless you upgrade it too, you're actually hurting yourself in the long run due to the need to reallocate power from your new power hungry engines to your weapons and shields.
Look at the upgrades to the Sovereign as comparison between Insurrection and Nemesis. The Enterprise received a sizable offensive upgrade, feeling in a number of phaser and torpedo blind spots. These upgrades made her one of the most heavily armed ships in the fleet, likely more so than the Prometheus. And the upgrades were made to be integrated into the original space frame with only minor changes. It could be argued the Enterprise-E started her at the very least a heavy cruiser and by Nemesis was so well armed that she technically would qualify as a Battlecruiser.
And they didn't need to add a third nacelle or any huge phaser cannon to her underside to do it.
