Description Based on the character of Death, as featured in "The Sandman" comic series, and "Death: The High Cost of Living" & "Death: The Time of Your Life".

I've wanted to draw this character for the LONGEST time, ever since reading the High Cost of Living books many years ago. If you haven't read them then do yourself a favour & go read them before the promised movie hits the screens!!

During the sketching stage I decided it would be cool if I could turn this into a figurine design, hence the base she's sitting on. I'd love to get into model making & sculpture but my current living arrangements don't allow me the space.

I think I've captured the character, but if anyone spots anything I've left off then please let me know.

Colours to follow...

Sorry to hear about your accommodations and the limited art expansion lad but anything have to agree again to see this piece made into a little figure for your desktop, wow!

You captured a great level of everything here JohnnyPumpkin, the use of black and white alone really give out some outstanding impression.

Shall have to see if I can find her at my local comic shop, and kudos lad to letting your thoughts express themselves, had a few ladies too I always wanted to draw. ^_^

I've got to say you've really nailed her character spot on! You gave her that slightly knowing little grin she almost always seems to have, a playful nature that hides the fact she's the walking embodiement of demise.Well done!

Thanks! That was the one thing I wanted to get right. Ideally you should be taken in by her smile before you realise who she really is, by then it's too late as she already has you

I just wish I had more time

College is driving me hard. Five papers this semester.

I haven't seen the comic, although I did get an action figure a few years back. Judging by the latter, her head looks too large to me here. Was it that way in the comic?

Even with that, though, I like this a lot.

Thanks.

Nah I made her head a little larger on purpose, I wanted to make her a little younger looking than in the comics & play on the cuteness.

So this isn't a bobblehead doll design?

I kid. It's a very good image.

Thanks, hopefully the colours will really bring her alive. Shouldn't take too long to colour with all that black though
