Description
Description:
In the map itself, there is this time no important description because this time i wanted that the watcher have a clean, widely open look on a clean
detailled map with a stylish frame without many texts. The maps shows the approximiate distribution of important germanic tribes in central european (southern from Scandinavia) around the time of 50 years after Christ birth. That's more than 300 years before the huge migration period which changed nearly whole Europe's ethnic combination extremly. Note: The area of the Triboci, Vangiones, Neckar Suebi was at this time under roman control, but i have still marked those tribes in the map, because the base maps has maked it exactly like this.
Shortly legend:
The in Weißrund Gotisch typed Black names, show regular Germanic tribes (and the Roman Empire), the whites ones show tribes which can not clearly linked to one of the major big tribe groups.
The in Amperzand written bigger names show the names of the main big four tribes groups.
The red lines showing the actual international recognized state borders of 2018.

Nice map! I really like the geographical details. You've improved a lot over the years. It's amazing to see the differences between your maps from 2017 to now. Keep up the good work.

Weren't the Saxons right next to the Frisians up there, or were they just not seen as seperate tribes at the time?

Cool map, always interesting to see such maps. I wonder how would life and politics be for ancient Germanic tribes, and all the little details and stuffs,
