i been there, i used to live in ottawa, so visited from the canadian side. i'm not so "proud" of canada, though... we condemn america for being arrogant, and then turn around and demonstrate the greatest national arrogance ever. huge banners: "the world needs more canada..." if we saw america do that, we'd sure have some condemnation. that said, evil lives everywhere human beings live.

I'm not sure how all that started with Americans and Canadians, when I lived in New York state, which I have to say was along time ago, their was good relations between the two countries. I have traveled all over the world and have always viewed Canadians and American as twin sons of different mothers, when meeting them everywhere else we tend to be thick as thieves. I do know there has always been this rift with some of the people in Quebec, but was never sure why! I think some of the tension comes from the current political climate in Ottawa, and hopefully that will change soon!
